Videos from the Panel "What is the Future for Women Artists"

This past March the director of A.I.R Kat Griefen and the co-director of the Rutgers Institute for Women and Art Judith K. Brodsky moderated the panel What is the Future for Women Artists. Panelists included artist Joan Snyder, artist Grimanesa Amoros, Catherine Morris Curator of the Sackler Center,  Susan Ball Program Director for New York Foundation for the Arts, and Tom Finkelpearl Director, Queens Museum of Art

With the compromised economic picture, have opportunities for women diminished or increased due to the new administration at the National Endowment for the Arts and the changes in the foundation world? Do recent surveys at major museums ─ such as the Pompidou and the Museum of Modern Art ─ mean increased visibility for women artists as a whole, or only for certain artists or groups of artists? What is the Future for Women Artists was part of “Dialogues in the Visual Arts,” a presentation and discussion of the most relevant issues concerning female artists today.

Thanks to the efforts of Joe Nanashe, the panel is now on Vimeo! Enjoy!
